That's certainly a novel way of looking at it! The contract with Playa was originally multiyear for Hilton at the time they were agreed. Playa turned their own-band Dream resorts into the Hiltons and made upgrades/renovations in all case as part of the deals. I don't know how much cash injection if any Hilton provided to support this, but just from a strategy perspective I would have thought they would have wanted longevity to the deal, albeit probably with mutual break clause.
