I forgot to mention one challenge regarding the lounge in KEF before boarding the LH or OS midnight return flights:
The lounge closes after departure of the last FI flight.
So if the last FI flight is at 10pm and your OS flight is 01:00 am, then you can forget the lounge.
This situation may vary depending on the day of the week.
I ran into this situation once but got lucky regarding the lounge because of an IRROP situation:
The LH flight to KEF got grounded in MUC because of excessive winds at KEF that evening.
Instead LH flew to KEF in the early morning and the return flight from KEF in the late morning when the lounge is always open .
