Sadly it's not so simple. My phone's EMEI number comes up as OK when checked on the Australian system, even though it won't work here.

I've tried manually choosing Vodafone as well, but that hasn't resolved the problem either.

I thoroughly agree that WhatsApp would appear to be the way to go for 2FA, and indeed I have been offered that option occasionally, but I wonder if there are security issues that prevent it becoming a universal option.
