I would like to add my case to the stack. Today I found myself in this exact same situation where BA is locking down my AVIOS and won't let me move any of them out. Here are some data points:

• My BA, IB, QR and AY accounts have been connected from some time now and I've previously moved back and forth rather large amounts (6+ digits) of avios between them without any issues.
• A few days ago, I intended to book some tickets via AY, so I moved 100k avios from QR to BA and then to AY... but ended up not booking anything because award tickets were not available.
• Few days later, a fresh points transfer from my bank hit my IB account and decided to concentrate all my avios in my AY account. So i did the following:
  • 100k+ transfer from IB to BA = success.
  • 100k+ transfer from BA to AY = error. twice.
  • 100k+ transfer from AY to BA = success.
  • 200k+ transfer from BA to QR = error. twice.
• Pull/push attempts were made from both AY and QR.
  • Anything involving BA donating avios resulted in errors.
  • Anything involving BA taking in AVIOS was an instant success.
• This is the error I get when I try to push avios out of BA: "We’ve detected some unusual activity on your account. Rest assured, our team is actively investigating the situation. We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve it."

Basically, my BA account is able to receive any amount of avios but will not allow me to transfer them out. I haven't tried transferring them to IB or EI because I don't intend to leave my avios there (lack of 2FA auth).

I filled the /partner/qatar/contact-us form asking for help, but I'm afraid this is going to be an uphill/long battle to get my accounts in good standing. Very unfair.
