They bought a new system from Thales. They were one of the first customers for it, and it was a disaster. So they've gone away from that and have been installing a different system.

Air Canada uses 2Ku? Is that right? So the MAX was Gogo and is moving to Intelsat?

Everything other than the initial 7M8 system was supplied by Gogo, most of whose business was later bought by Intelsat. The wiki at the top of the thread has details of what's installed in which fleet.
