It just shows how Delta is continuing its migration to "flashy" and "influencer-driven" rather than an actual premium airline with quality products. Coasting on names alone might drive some traffic, but influencers are fickle.
Could not agree more. The SkyMiles statement I received today effused "new destinations mean more views and more memories" and I had to roll my eyes a bit. To be fair United had the same thing a while back, "Be the world traveler your Instagram needs."
Back on topic and as a data point, my D1 menu last night mentioned Taittinger but didn't hear anyone ask for it. I don't drink myself so don't have a horse in this race per se.
