Title: How to Book EL AL Flights on Points With Luggage?

Hi everyone,

Newbie here (in this section!) trying to book an EL AL flight using travel rewards (Chase portal), but I’m running into a problem: all the options I see are for hand-baggage-only (HBO) fares.

I’d rather book the fare that includes a checked suitcase (which I see on EL AL’s website for about $30–$40 more, sometimes with seat selection included). EL AL says they can’t upgrade it after booking with points, and I don’t see an option to book the higher fare class through the portal.

Has anyone found a way around this? Any tips on how to book EL AL flights on points while still getting the fare that includes luggage? Do I need to cvall and the phone agent can see teh fares? I haven't been successful with a decent phone rep there.
