Thanks for the info. It is really confusing as a customer. I am so used to no change fees on United especially when buying an economy airfaire. They really should be direct about these fees. I am surprised the DOT allows them to get away with this confusing change fees. The booking process gives zero warning that I will be paying a change fee.
