How does the price in miles compare for award flights on the same route? In some cases, it makes sense to buy miles (when they are on sale) and redeem them, rather than buy cash tickets.

Edited to add: Does pricing the journey as a roundtrip with an intervening Saturday night stay result in any lower fare?
