Hope you’re aware of USO lounges (and very helpful app) which are way less pretentious than ANY other clubs or lounges and have enjoyable “comfort food” instead of the faux-fancy-schmansy food of most other lounges. (No alcohol.)
If you ever pass through DEN and visit the (airside) USO center (lounge), be sure to ask for a Portland Cream Voodoo Doughnut, 2nd best donut in the world to a Krispy Kreme Chocolate Iced Kreme Filled Doughnut 😊. Of course neither is at all fattening, particularly if eaten while standing up 😉.
Bob Hope USO at (landside) LAX, used to be in 2-3 trailers in a central parking lot, now in the Theme Building, used to get daily deliveries of 4-5 trays of various fresh Krispy Kreme donuts. And (airside) CLT USO center used to get daily deliveries of boxes of Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory chocolate bars. ORD USOs (1 airside, 1 landside) prove that a hotdog in a bun wrapped in paper can be microwaved for exactly 35 seconds to be served piping hot. Those visits were (& often still are) challenging tests of discipline and self-control 😉.
Thanks for that! I've been to one USO lounge and had a good time. I prefer the experiences at some other lounges to the USO lounge I visited, but the USO lounge was definitely preferable to many of the Priority Pass affiliated lounges I've been to. For me a lot comes down to the location of the lounge relative to the gate, etc. I'm definitely interested in giving these lounges another look.
