I booked my mother on a recent roundtrip on KLM between the US and Europe in premium economy and she absolutely loved it. The only comparison she has is Comfort+ on domestic flights and premium economy on Iberia longhaul but said she thought it was better than Iberia. As others have mentioned, AMS is probably the best European hub to connect in period so for connecting on to Kenya that'd be a no-brainer.
