I have yet to break this news to Mrs. DCA writer but I'm sure she will not be thrilled about it--she's flying to Vegas for a girls' trip in several weeks and used her 1K privileges to get two of them in E+ seats. OTOH, since she has no PlusPoints to play with and, like me, generally doesn't see CPUs clear, the major ongoing consequence for her would be lower RDM earning. And having to pay for a drink and a snack in Y unless she's flying with me and the FA comps her order (which I already see happen when mini DCA writer is seated next to me).

I, in turn, would have less incentive to fly and spend a little more at the end of the year to requalify for 1K status because I would only be doing that for me, not for the both of us. And since I'm at about 1.25 million miles flown, it's way too early to think about 2MM status... not that I don't have a column for my lifetime total on my status-tracking spreadsheet.
