I think a three class 777 would be ideal; it works well if sold as part of a BA Holidays package, especially with those cheaper GBP1200-1500 I fares.

And much easier to fly into SAN, then drive up the cost and out of SFO or vice versa.

Perhaps something like the British Meditteranean services might be considered?

SAN must be top of the list of unserved destinations - unlike Vegas there are no other direct links to the UK.
