Well done. If the fix sticks, then when you have a chance, I hope you follow up with your high-level contacts at AA and Amex (preferably ones who have been most competent and sympathetic and are aware of the full extent of the hassle this has put you through) to:
- first, reiterate your thanks for their help as individuals;
- second, ask about a gesture in compensation for the huge, repeated mistakes made by their companies and the stressful weeks spent chasing this that you will never get back.
