With the money you pay it's not enough to control airline menus. Best to think outside the box and eat prior to the flight at the airport or elsewhere or upon landing. TT segments are so short anyway you probably don't need a meal. Most often at major airports you'll find airport restaurants supply better food than lounges and what's on board. You can bring food from home or outside the airport to cross the Tasman to keep personal tastes satisfied if flying the same route frequently. I bring certain fruit from the supermarket or buy certain drinks at the airport when I want. Maybe my expectations are low or maybe they're realistic or maybe I'm just fussy about what I want onboard. You could try flying another airline to see what they have on offer also to switch it up. I don't think much of the airline ticket you pay actually goes towards food. But variety is good and there is plenty outside the airport and within to keep your tastebuds satisfied. By all means feedback to the airline but also be realistic about what you can achieve. Just take ownership of your own situation and use your money to pay for what you do want.
