To suggest this is too much of an inconvenience belongs in the 'least substantial thing you can complain about' thread.
But:

1. If the incremental LPs (earned in February) cross a status threshold but don't post by March 31, then status will be improperly lowered for a time, which may impact real benefits on trips. AA used to allow 2 months between the end of the qualifying year and the end of the status year, to provide more buffer for delayed posting. They reduced it to 1 month, presumably thinking that this is enough with faster electronic posting.

2. If the incremental LPs cross an LP Reward threshold but don't post by March 31, then the LP Reward may be lost because these must be selected by March 31.

So this is not an insubstantial issue. However, I would expect that the posting will be faster than 10 weeks. AA would prefer to avoid complaints about the above problems.
