Fair. I forgot about the -300/400/500 in between the orginal -100/200 and NG. I'll take it back and say that the 77W/L are like the -300/400/500 with new engines and pylons on a similar/identical body and the 779 is more akin to the NG with a new wing, larger body and tweaked engine in both cases.
