Why should they be more generous? They're trying to drive specific business, that's why the terms are so specific and limiting. They're not in the business of giving things away. When QR was just starting to get into the U.S market, they offered BKK-LAX roundtrip fares for USD ~$1,200 in business. The fare produced the desired effect (and I got a few back-to-back MRs in), QR was established in the LAX market, and the promo ended.
