The location of the hotel is excellent, the interior could definitely use some TLC, but overall is not bad at all. Especially the suite was just huge and very functional. Some fruit, sweets and wine left as a welcome gift. The staff were efficient and welcoming at the front desk.

The breakfast to me seemed a bit disappointing. I expected more variety and quality from the brand. It was definitely passable, but not luxurious in any way. I have been traveling around LATAM for a while and so far the most impressive breakfast spread was in HC Lima. Both here and in Lima they serve breakfast as a buffet plus you can order things like omelette, French toast, eggs Benedict as additions. Well, let’s just say the versions here were kind of basic. When I think of Park Hyatt, basic is not the first thing that comes to mind. There was no rotation of anything in the buffet, it was the same exact spread every single day.

The buffet was lacking any kind of potatoes, the meats were only sausage and bacon, plus the cold ham, no fresh cheeses, very little on the veggies department, baked items were kind of meh. To make another comparison, I also stayed in HP Santiago (should have picked HC in retrospect but that’s another story), and their croissants were baked fresh and had perfect texture and were amazing. Here they were just meh. The staff in restaurant was overall a bit on the inconsistent side, even though they weren’t very busy most days.

One day I ordered the eggs Benedict and they came with some roasted potatoes, sausage and charred tomato. The next they only came with some lettuce. Surprised, I inquired and was told it’s because the regular Benny order is just with lettuce, but as a VIP globalist I was entitled to the extra garniciones, as they put it. Except the order was not communicated correctly to the kitchen. I asked if I can have the garniciones, and they took the plate away and came back with the sausage and tomato but no potatoes. Look, I’m not petty but I like potatoes and there aren’t any in the buffet so it’s not like I can go fetch them myself. I’m sure they would have made them if specifically requested, but at this point I just wanted to finish the meal and move on with my day.

In fact the day after when my Benny came with no garniciones again, I just asked for the potatoes, seeing as how it’s just how they operate. The kitchen manager came over and we had another chat about all this weirdness and she basically said very sorry about the miscommunication but the Benny with lettuce is how they do it and she was very sorry I was ever told otherwise. My potatoes did come eventually, after I had already finished the sweets. They were tasty and I ate them, but it’s just so weird to be spending all this air talking about potatoes back and forth.

The suite upgrade was sweet and it was definitely the highlight, as was the proximity to restaurants, and great city park, and a few museums. Not a bad use for a handful of FNAs.
I was there in January, fresh cheese and potatoes every day. I agree it wasn't luxurious and croissants were meh. but it wasn't sparse either.

I had a suite. It was in fine condition. It fact it had some very lovely artwork in it, right by the door entrance, definitely not bare.
