Stil my go to hotel in SF when I need to spend the night. Arrived in the evening, but had already seen as a Globalist they had upgraded me to a King Corner Room — this is basically a small Junior suite. I love the aesthetic in the hotel public areas, but I find the rooms are borderline between “selectively tasteful” and “spartan.” Hotel is generally starting to show more age with lots of scratches and dents. They’d benefit from a minor refresh touch up. Bed was comfortable, shower had decent water pressure from rain shower, amenities were in big bottles. Room noise insulation was not great — heard Big Foot walking in the room above me, sirens and traffic noise outside, and hallway noise. Thankfully, it’s a quieter neighborhood and crowd at the hotel, so generally was not a bother.

The piece de resistance here is the fitness center. One of the best in terms of size, breadth of equipment (evening punching bag and speed bag) and even fitness classes. Definitely a major draw for me if I’m staying for a couple nights.

Breakfast was served on the Lobby floor at the bar, which is a bit cozy. There are only a few tables and a long communal table, as well as some couches. Buffet items were limited but high quality, including eggs, a meat (rotated bacon, sausage or ham), a potato (rotated hash browns, roasted potatoes), miso soup, Chobani Greek yogurt, granola, berries, fruit plate, etc. Coffee was a nice light roast. Service was excellent, including remembering my name and thanking me personally. Bill was wiped on checkout, but the tips was charged to my room as “Voluntary Tip Out by Customer.”

Always a great stay and I’ll be back.
