It doesn't look like this was mentioned in any thread here in the OZ forum, but Flying Blue have recently added Asiana Club to the list of airline status matches currently on offer.
It's not entirely clear to me whether you actually do need to have an ID (passport or driving licence) issued in KR - they are currently also targeting BA and Iberia members who can provide UK-issued documents when challenged - but if anyone is interested there is no harm in trying for this. Anecdotally, from reading some of the threads elsewhere on FT regarding BA matchers, if you're in the relevant country (so, UK for BA obviously) you're not actually required to show proof of having ID issued in that country, so it might be worth checking during a layover in ICN if you're interested but don't have a KR ID.
Of course, preferring to see if a "match" is forthcoming from KE, or balking at the cost, may put some of you off; however, just wanted to note it here because I was surprised that AF/KL appear to be attempting to somewhat steal KE's thunder with this! If for whatever reason you have Skyteam travel coming up soon, it may be of use to somebody reading this.
