Except that (At least in my case (ex-LHR)) AY is no longer the cheapest option these days flying eastbound to Asia, most of the time I can find cheaper flights with QR, CX, SQ in Y therefore the prices do not make sense given the prices they charge and considering what the competition offers. Gone are the days of £500-600 economy class flights with AY where I would have happily swallowed the lack of food. Air China is the the new AY ex-LHR with fare dumping £450 round trip fares to BKK from London!
