AY food is bad, but think of it this way: If you saved 200 EUR by choosing AY over a better carrier and then buy snacks and sandwiches for 30 EUR, you are still saving 170 EUR. It's sort of part of the deal.

The Alepa on the ground floor at HEL has a large selection of sandwiches etc. Just stock up before you fly.
