I have since status matched over to Flying Blue and Miles & More. Not sure yet which basket to put my eggs into.
I am also trying to decide which OW airline to stick with as I know that I can't 100% eliminate flying with BA without sullying myself in a LCC. I was tempted by RJ for the simple sector requirements but I don't see a practical use for the points side of things. So, I'm currently flip-flopping between AY and QR.
For the first time in many years I have nothing booked for the rest of the year. I have a weekend away in Prague coming up this month and that's it. I have some GUFs burning a hole in my pocket so will need to come up with a plan to use them.
Take a look at Alaska's Mileage Plan, since they have scrapped the segments you have to fly with them, they seem to be the best OW Partner to reach similar goals and they are still going by distance flown.
Best deals you are getting miles/qualification wise are flights booked through their homepage, having said that, their partner bookings to Europe aren't great yet, but already improving.
