If I read this thread correctly (I read the first few, then skipped ahead to the posts from this decade, I'll admit), we won't have access to any lounge because we're not connecting, is that correct? If not - if we will have access - is there anything we should make sure to stop in for? We will be heading to the hotel, and on the way out coming straight from there, so it's not necessary, but if there's a nice lounge that we'd have access to, that's worth experiencing, we might leave some time before departure for it.
On the outbound you would not have any lounge access at MAD since you are arriving, and don't have a departing/onward/connecting oneworld flight. But you can use either of the Admirals Clubs in CLT before your CLT-MAD flight.
On the return you can use either of the IB business lounges at MAD, since you do have a departing oneworld flight. Go to the one in T4S, which will be closest to your departing gate.
