I think the price for Lufthansa Senator and Flying Blue Platinum is acceptable...but would it be useful if I don't plan to switch airlines? Based in Spain means IB is the best choice for North/South America and Europe really so my plan is to stick with IB

If you're flying to Central Europe, IB only has limited destinations (and even then only mostly seasonal - eg Salzburg in winter & Ljubljana in summer), making connecting on LH Group almost inevitable – that would be the main reason to go for LH SEN.
I agree the use case for FB Plat is rather more limited. Not to mention you don't get lounge access on domestic flights with SkyTeam (limited exceptions recently introduced).
