I recently had a weekend stay here and was pleasantly surprised. The hotel allowed early check in at 7 a.m., but they charged me an extra 1500 MXN because it was before noon, even on a points (3,500) booking.
I found it easy to get around the neighborhood during the day. I even walked about 10 minutes to the Costco/Walmart. You can walk five minutes further on the same road to get to the Valle Oriente mall, where there is a movie theater, a Soriana grocery store and the Hilton.
A Didi from the airport cost about 250 MXN and took about 40 minutes on the non-toll road at around 6 a.m. on Saturday. It was easy to grab a Didi or Uber (averaged a five-minute wait), although many drivers had to circle around to drive up the ramp to the hotel tower's front doors because they would miss the turn on the big road. A ride to the city center is about 60 to 80 MXN each way on Didi. (Uber prices were consistently more at 100 to 120 MXN.)
It was extremely challenging to grab a Didi to the airport early Sunday morning. I wasted more than an hour trying to book a Didi in between prices surging to 450 MXN or as high as 600 MXN at 3 a.m. Drivers canceled on me whenever I tried to book something when the price dropped to 300 MXN or 350 MXN. I ended up taking an Uber for about 520 MXN at around 4 a.m., and the driver took the toll road, even though the non-toll road was faster according to Google Maps. He drove to the toll booth for me to pay the toll (57 MXN) with my credit card. I wish I hadn't wasted my time trying to get a Didi and just sought out an Uber in the first place, as the Uber ride took nearly an hour.
My points booked directly into a king kitchen suite at the Hyatt House, which is their standard suite. It was very clean (in-room dishes and flatware included), and the kitchen was well appointed and thought out. There was a full-sized fridge, freezer and microwave, and the microwave even had a microwave cover included. The suite could comfortably fit two adults and two kids on the sofa bed, although I didn't travel with that many people.
Because I checked in early, I was able to have breakfast on the same day. Breakfast starts at 7 a.m. on weekends. The spread was much larger than I expected (see photos below), and some locals not staying at the hotel seemed to partake. Service was very responsive. My plates were taken away quite quickly. However, I found that the glasses by the juice and water area did not seem clean. Nearly all of the drinking glasses (I was hard-pressed to find a single clean one) were cloudy from mineral deposits or hard water.
