The ASRS doesn't do what I think some are expecting it to do.
It is an aviation safety database used to identify trends and have a database which can be searched when working on a specific type of threat or occurrence. It isn't a system where each report is investigated by the overseeing agency.

I liken this to the occasional time when I am especially in a bad mood and someone insists on standing with their knees against the baggage carosel, I might bump them while removing my large bag... I did once have a brief loss of decorum sitting in the window seat on an RJ and told the frail old woman sitting next to me (with the FA watching) "I hope you can catch, because this door will be coming fast and without much regard for convenience."
