On the way back I will be transferring from IB/Air Nostrum to AA and will presumably be given a bp that I would have to trade in for an AA bp at the gate at MAD. Or will the app give me a bp that works to board? Note again, not an AAdvantage member; AS only.
Many thanks!
It should be enough to get a BP in the app. You'll likely be called forward at the gate for passport verification if you don't scan it with the app or a machine.
There are no specific international check in machines at ORD, they're all the new ones, so use whichever is available should you need to go that route.
IB can print boarding passes that work with AA, the only exception is they usually don't work for getting into the lounge.
