At any rate, Alaska has a long history of gate celebrations, glad they rolled out the festivities for you!
How cool was that?! Back then, Alaska only had three or four gates on the old D Concourse. Thank goodness security was a little bit easier back in what I assume was the mid-1970s - right about the time I logged my first flight on Alaska. Back then, Alaska had just eleven jets and didn't fly any farther south than Seattle. I'm glad I wasn't behind your band at the security checkpoint that day, though I would have loved to be at the gate for the celebration!
