It took me a moment to remember where I'd seen your FT handle before, and closer inspection - seeing the BKK as your home base - confirmed it.

SKT-DK, I owe you a huge apology! Allow me to explain.

Earlier this summer, in an effort to clean up and simplify my FT life, I deleted my inbox and outbox postings from private messages. I hadn't done so since I'd first joined FT back in 1999, and so had well over 100 messages, both to me and from me, none of which I ever did anything with after sending or receiving them, so why keep them? So, I just swept them all out.

It wasn't until later in September when I was finalizing and typing up and printing my final itinerary that I remembered I was going to be meeting a fellow FTer for dinner in Bangkok. Yeah, but WHO was it? All evidence of your identity had been deleted from my now clean and uncluttered mailbox.

In any event, I am so sorry to have essentially disappeared on you, and I hope that should I pass through Bangkok again - which I totally expect to do, bad back notwithstanding - we can try this again.

As to the trip report, your kind comments are very much appreciated. My writing style isn't for everyone - especially our younger members - but for those like yourself who do enjoy it, enough to even post a reply on it - well, that makes it all worth it. Thank you so much!

By the way, here's what I type up for each and every major trip I take.
