The first time we did CS with the kids they were 3. We had 2 middle pairs and one kid by the window one way. On the other flight we had all 3 kids in window seats and the two adults in aisles next to them. Both have their advantages. For us, I think we preferred the two middle pairs ensuring the adults were not on the same aisle. This meant I could see one of my daughters next to me, but also help the one in front (who was then n ext to my wife), if necessary. I could also see the one by the window, too. But they were pretty self-sufficient. They don't get a lot of time on their own or even space that is their own so they appreciated having the door closed and no-one bothering them!
