Overall happy with my 2 night stay. I’m one who gets restless, so I can’t stay anywhere remote for too long. Upgraded to a private villa with pool. Thankfully I was villa 2…. Which is probably the best of all the villas. Villa 1 would be second choice. The higher the number the further it is down the hillside… I would not want to be one of the bottom villas. 1) it’s quite steep and not well lit at night 2) the view is better higher.
The private pool was a great size but extremely hot. Heated like a hottub which isn’t great when you’re in a hot place already. They could save some money and turn off the heat.
- manager is quite pushy when you arrive telling you all the “special” things he has done just for you. (I heard him give the same speech to 5 different groups of people as they were checking in.)
- breakfast was included and good.
- booked a massage (or some might say “pushed” into booking a massage by the manager at check in). Massage itself was good, but the massage rooms being right by the pool don’t feel very private.
- participated in the complementary yoga one morning. Very basic but the instructor is very passionate and clearly loves what he does.
- did the morning rice patty walk. Was very simple but a nice way to meet fellow hotel guests and see a bit of the scenery directly around the property.
Would you recommend the hotel? How were the dinners?
Was the service worthwhile apart from the pushy manager?
Did u use the shuttles to Ubud?
