I can only speak for UEarnPoints, but it's similar between other groups as well. You can send the items to your own address and then to the buying group if that works better, but you should take into consideration that buying groups will rarely cover any shipping costs or provide labels, some groups do that if you send a certain amount, but most do not.
I'm guessing you asking since some retailers cancelled orders made to buying group addresses, that is not very common, but it does happen unfortunately.
About the items or the deals, I would avoid everything under cost, most groups that buy Apple products always buy them under-cost, meaning let's say the item is worth 100 and they will pay ~95.
