When I pull up my reservation on the AA site to select my seats for the AA domestic legs, I get warnings that it's a Basic Economy ticket, and that the respective restrictions apply. Since I didn't ticket it through AA stock, does the warning mean anything? I was able to select any seat for free with PPro and see a luggage allowance of one bag (which I assume will be three with standard PPro benefits), but I don't see that I'm on the upgrade list for the AUS-DFW and ORD-AUS legs. Do I need to contact AA CS to add myself to the upgrade list?
I'm sure someone else can provide a more definitive answer, but since you haven't gotten any response yet I'll provide my anecdotal 2 cents from booking domestic trips ticketed by a partner airline. When I book through AS, the leg to/from my home airport is on AA. My AA status gives me free MCE seats on both AA and AS, and I am on the UG list on AS, but not the AA leg. Not 100% sure if it is a technical limitation or an intentional loss of benefit from AA, but again all benefits but the UG list have applied on the AA leg of an AS ticketed flight.
