I stayed at the ES Burlingame in January. There were numerous signs stating that the hotel had recently been remodeled. I otherwise really couldn't tell, however, that the hotel had been remodeled. Not that it was run down, but it certainly did not look like it had recently been renovated. I would rate it average as compared to the other ES hotels I've stayed at. Not bad, but not particularly outstanding.
I'd recommend that you consider the ES South San Francisco, which is also very close to the airport. That hotel is much nicer IMHO. I stayed in a corner suite, which was quite nice. It might cost $10 or $20 more, but I think that the differential is justified.
