I think we have to regard SLH properties as having very much local decisions on pricing, particularly on resort style locations. There is a Price Match promise but as indicated there are differences in this specifics. I can see for a Sri Lanka resort the 14 versus 30 day cancellation may not be material, but for a city centre or short stay leisure property that would be a big difference and would justify the price match refusal. We also see a lot of hotel cancellation queries in Hilton so the ability to cancel is clearly a big deal, though personally I've rarely cancelled a hotel booking. The SLHs that I have monitored in Europe tend to stay more in step in terms of Hilton versus local pricing, but for local pricing there are often all sorts of ways to make the property attractive such as spa or restaurant promotions, "stay 4 nights pay for 3 nights", refer a friend offers. Given that these are often proprietor owned and operated, with the proprietor having no other properties, then I think there is going to be a necessary disconnect when you are branded into one of the world's biggest hotel chains.
