Show of hands: Who'd rather be stuck in the wrong country almost 10,000 miles distant or an hour away from your destination in the carriers home base country? I was in Sydney last week and Qantas was shuffling crews like crazy right in front of a gate full of passengers. They kept rolling the delays so each successive flight absorbed a little delay instead of what the american airlines tend to do, screw one flight horribly to keep everything else on time.
I haven't found this to be true at all. AA is well-known for their breadcrumb delays since the pandemic, where they'll list a flight that's two hours away from even landing as 15 minutes late, then 30 minutes late, etc
