Looks like if your flight number changes (even if the times didn't), then you would qualify for a refund if you decide to cancel?

Their SalesLink guidance on schedule changes also has similar language:
"Refund to original form of payment is allowed in the following scenarios:
·
Schedule change results in a flight number change – Schedule change resulted in a flight number change even if flight times on origin or destination did not change"
Thanks so much for this! I had the exact situation of a flight number change on a reservation that I wanted to refund for other reasons. (There were also other schedule changes that may have qualified.) But I was dreading making the call to AA because I thought it would take forever. Instead, I just requested the refund, the agent looked at the ticket, and agreed. She did ask me to request the refund on the website, which led to me having to try to cancel the ticket again online. But I was surprised to find that the cancel option on the website proactively told me that the itinerary was eligible for a refund. Much easier than I expected.
