We took the Silver Star from NYP to TPA last Sunday. Dinner was booked for 5:00pm, 6:30pm or 8:00pm. We were in a sleeper, and the waiter from the dining car came through our car to ask what time we preferred to have our dinner. We were given our preference.

Also, our train was delayed, so were had lunch the following day as the train arrived TPA at 1:30pm, rather than the scheduled 10:26am.

I also agree with the previous posted that a tip to the attendant and waiter will go a long way toward your service. We found all the staff on the train were very courteous and helpful and definately deserved/earned their tip.
