Yup. My first attempt failed, but after I re-enabled 2FA and tried again, mlady and I are now "groupies" !!
Apart from each having to enable 2FA, I didn't notice any particular identity verification requirements other than name & number. 2FA can be turned off again afterwards, if one wants.
EDIT: Note that the 2FA requirement didn't contribute anything to security that I can see: It required giving them a phone number, ANY number, and then receiving and entering a code they send via SMS. Not useful for security done like that.
