Thank you both for your replies.
I got the price from a google search. If fuel is cheaper, all the better.
You're right about the reason for the trip. It is indeed to see Andre Rieu. My mum, who is 87 is a fan.
The reason for flying to Amsterdam is that we'll be on holidays in Scotland from Australia. We'll be staying in Aberdeen. I can fly with KLM from ABZ to AMS, but flights from ABZ or EDI to DUS require connecting flights and take anywhere from 4 hours to an overnight stay. Even if there are other options, those flights are already booked. To be honest, I hadn't even considered other airports. Australia is geographically large, but we only have a small population for the size of the country. We really don't have two large airports as close as Dusseldorf and Schiphol.
I probably didn't explain my question well enough. I'm kind of keen to rent an EV. There are EVs here in Australia. They're only just starting to become popular now, although most of us haven't had anything to do with them. I'll be checking out of my hotel north of Maastricht in the morning, and fly out of Schiphol on a flight that departs at 4 pm. I wasn't really sure if I'd have time to have the car recharged and back in time to catch my flight.
