In part to blame on employers doing a terrible job with training, oversight and service standards. If Starbucks can do it for a $5 coffee then a global airline can do it for a $5000 plane ticket.
People have been asking for and expecting SK to adopt a more international service concept for decades but they keep failing to train their staff and keep them in check. It also doesn't help that the average age of a long haul crew is 50+.
Its un-defendable and really in my experience a SK-only problem among full service airlines with Business Class products.
I find US waiters rude and incompetent, because they don't understand, what is to me, basic table manners in a restaurant. Should I, in 2025, expect that they adapt to me? Or should I just expect that culturally speaking, that is the service in the US, and even if I find it rude that's just the way things are flowing in the US?
