1)Travelling AMS-YYZ on Air Canada in "H" Class via either LHR or FRA on the 29th of March returning the 8th of april which route do i have the best chance of upgrading to C class using SWU LHR or FRA?

I can only leave AMS after 12:00 p.m as i will be arriving in AMS at 9:30 a.m and i will need to do check-in again in AMS.

2)Should i ticket myself via YUL just in case there are no open C directly and then request the direct route if space opens up front? In other words will A.C let me fly stand-by direct to yyz even if my ticket is via YUL?

3)How about the other way if my flight is direct to yyz and there are c class seats via YUL will they let me fly via YUL?

4)Lastly i'll be connecting in AMS onto TLV on KLM will A.C let me check my bags through all the way from YYZ to TLV?
