Oops. Sorry I poorly worded my question. I spent $19.5K on taxes, and then put another $1000 on the card as a buffer so that it wouldn't be the tax payment alone that pushed me over the $20K threshold. So I've spent $20,500 (excluding the annual fee). All spend happen before my statement closing date.
