There has been nothing with regards to soft landings in the announcement.

The only thing status-related in the announcement was that the fare-family restrictions will apply to awards as well come June 3. E.g., as SEN, there will be no free ASR and no luggage allowance if you book a short-haul eco light award under the new system.

Really, the extension of fare-family restrictions to awards is the most negative change IMO. Thus far, only the mileage bargains were non-cancellable. Now you have a bunch of fares which are not cancellable and quite a few were change fees are 4-5 times as high as before. On top of that, even fare difference (meaning mileage difference, I assume) will be applied.
