To your question...there is nothing special about the million points - they are treated the same as any other bonus points you get. So far, they also seem to count towards your Fly Premium requirement, so that sorts you out for 12 months from the month they post to your account.
Regarding award redemption, they will give you access to Fly Premium benefit. However, the bigger issue will be SAS Bonus award ticket availability. SAS doesn't make many of those award redemptions for business available, but if you act quickly when they are initially released you can get lucky.
