It will be more expensive. So less miles earned with flying, and more expensive award flights. Still M&M is quite a good way to earn miles on the ground if you live in Germany or Austria.
Flex Plus Award: Now I have to pay the YQ-Scam-Taxes again. Over 1000 Euro for a "free" Ticket.
HON Guarantee + SEN Waitlist: De-Facto-Gone (still for a ridiculous high award price). It was one of the best perks as HON together with the Flex Plus Award.
Charges for Rebooking/Cancelation. Not nice, but I rarely did use that. I could live with that.
So how long until they cull the companion award?
I will book some flights for the Family Holiday this summer with the HON Guarantee as Flex Plus and try to minimise my milage account.
No requalification for HON, since my commuting routes are no longer operated, soft landing to LT-SEN.
So back to Best Buy and Saver Fares. Award flights are overrated nowadays. Loyalty as well.

Essentially the current scheme allows you to book an award flight on LHG as long as D is available at a fixed & capped mileage rate, including the companion award option.
And it allows cancellation and changes for 50€ any time.
The new scheme:
the SEN waitlist with free D class makes this guarantee ridiculous looking at the steep award price corresponding to D fares.
Am I right assuming that if I book an award fare to a destination with P availability and want to rebook it at a later date with availability up at J only, the rebooking might force a repricing/upfare and potentially call for a multiple miles amount of the original fare, plus higher cash rebooking fees compared to 50€???
My math is: In the future, even as a SEN/HON in many cases you might pay a lower award price redeeming M&M on non-LHG if award is bookable despite the fact that the 50% companion discount goes away.
And for future non LHG awards you stick with the old scheme for rebooking & cancellation?
