We've stayed there 40-50 times, never had a "suite" upgrade, but there are some slightly larger rooms we usually get
To clarify, the FD called our room a suite but it was a single room with a king bed next to the elevator but with a sofa bed as well as a dining table. I was still glad I used a NUA for this because most of the alternatives in NYC at that price range would be tiny.
