I have not followed this thread in the past but wanted to post my recent KL/6E codeshare experience. Booked on KL USA>AMS>BLR>COK return trip recently. About 2 weeks before the trip, 6E canceled the last segment. I usually book directly with the airline but happened to use Amex travel on this one. I received notification from Amex regarding the cancellation, but despite multiple phone calls totaling at least 6 hours they were unable to fix the problem. KL would not speak to me as it was booked through a travel agency. In the end I purchased a ticket on another local carrier to get from BLR>COK on the outbound, but I was surprised that KL offered absolutely no assistance, even when I was en route in Amsterdam. Amex was hung up on the fact that there were no other KL code shares listed (even though there were several 6E flights later that day), which basically equated to "there are no flights that day whatsoever." Return trip was uneventful, although I could not choose 6E seats in advance and ended up in the second to last row despite a Z fare/business class ticket. I did get "fast forward" on my BP allowing priority boarding. Not saying I wouldn't do it again, but I would be sure to book directly with KL in hopes that they would assist prior to departure in event of cx/irrops.
